Encouragement Leads to Discipleship

“While at the Vancouver Mall on outreach, we met a man named Shae near JCPenney. With tattoos all over his body, several earrings, and an overall rougher look to him, Shae did not seem like he would be open to talking about Jesus with us. As we started to encourage him and share Jesus with him, however, he eagerly listened and said, ‘Man, I really needed this. I haven’t gone to church much, but I want what you guys are talking about.’ We shared about what the Bible taught about following Jesus and the commitment that it was. He said he was hungry to learn more, and we agreed to meet up with him and his friend the following day to begin teaching him about being a believer. The whole encounter turned into a discipleship opportunity!”
