Man Healed and Surprised at the Goodness of God
“We were in downtown Vancouver, WA near Esther Short Park handing out socks to the homeless. A man was highlighted to us who was standing on the sidewalk leaning up against a building. As we approached him, I saw the Holy Spirit highlight that he had a problem with his right knee. After we introduced ourselves and found out his name was Jeoff, my friend Josh asked if he had any pain in his body. Jeoff said no, that he was doing pretty good. I then asked him if he had any problems in his right knee and he looked at me surprised and said, “Actually I do. That’s crazy, how did you know that?” So I told him that we hear God’s voice and that God wants to heal him. He explained that his knee had pins and needles in it from a surgery, would fall out of joint, and was overall weak. So we laid hands and prayed for him and immediately he could feel a change. Holy Spirit also showed me while we were praying that the pain went from his knee to his hip and he had problems with his whole leg. He said it was true and as we prayed he felt strength come into his knee, something moving around, and all the grinding left. He was shocked! We began to share the Gospel with him and he said he recently started thinking more about Jesus and wanted to believe, but it was hard because when he would try to get clean off of drugs he would just end up going back to them again. I asked if we could just pray for him again and as we did he could feel the tangible peace of the Holy Spirit and felt a burning in his chest. The Holy Spirit also showed me he had a broken relationship with his mom and he said he used to be best friends with his mom, but something happened and they didn’t really talk anymore. So I told him that Jesus was knocking on the door of his heart and explained what it meant to be born again. He said that he had never experienced anything like what he experienced when we prayed and told him about Jesus. He said that it was crazy how we knew those things about him. I asked if he wanted to completely surrender his life to Jesus and he said he wasn't quite ready, but he would definitely be thinking about it. He genuinely thanked us and I gave him my phone number if he ever wanted to reach out. He walked away encouraged and loved!”
